To Our Members,
Southwest Florida Estate Planning Council has never been stronger with 126 members, 15 of whom joined us this season! However, our membership also includes many on the front line of the COVID -19 crisis. These are challenging times for our families, our friends and our clients. We want to do our part.
First, after much discussion, the Board has made the difficult decision to cancel our May 12th annual meeting as an abundance of caution. While we have high hopes to offer another fun member outing later in the Summer, we simply don’t know how long this crisis will last and when we can return to normal.
For our valued members - if we are unable to offer a substitute event, we will offer a $50 accommodation in member dues for the 2020-2021 season. For our members who joined after Jan 21 2020, you will receive a full credit of your new member dues; to be put towards next season as well.
Second, while we may be physically apart, we continue to work closely. We were thrilled to have received so many wonderful nominations to participate on our Board for 2020-2021. In lieu of nominations from the floor at our annual meeting, please send us your candidates via email by April 17th. We will share our 2020-2021 Board nomination and host our vote electronically in the weeks to come.
Lastly, it is times like these that we lead by example as our Community’s premier Estate Planning Council. On behalf of all of us, collectively, as the SWFEPC, we are proud to make a $1,000 donation to the Community Foundation of Sarasota County in partnership with The Patterson Foundation to bolster Season of Sharing Funds. In addition, we will make an equal $1,000 donation to Gulf Coast Community Foundation who has introduced a philanthropic initiative alongside The Barancik Foundation.
On behalf of the Board, we wish you and your families a safe and healthy summer. Should you need assistance, please call on us. We are a family at Southwest Florida Estate Planning Council and our strength comes from all of you. Thank you for your continued leadership!
Be Well,
Kimberly Bleach – President
Tammie Sandoval – First Vice-President
Catherine Hawkins – Second Vice-President
Susan Hines – Secretary
Elizabeth Diaz – Treasurer
